So I need to download this one file that contains a colon in it in order to make the thing I want to work, well, work. But it didn't turn into the file I wanted it to, so I tried to put a colon in it, like the file should've been, and it didn't work. If there is anyway to get around it and/or fix it, that would make my day. :D

Mac (and Windows) filenames can never have a colon. You will either have to find a different way of doing whatever you want to do, or switch to Linux.

Do you know any alternatives of a colon that could work for my file to still be able to work?

I think it would be difficult to make your post more vague. Other than "file" and "colon", there's no clue about what you are trying to do. Can you possibly provide another detail or two about what you think your downloaded file should do?
