Have been using FMP for what seems like 20 years on 4 generations of Macs, most recent iMac G5.
Recently forced to upgrade from 10.3.9 to OS 10.4.11 due to a recurring stability problem with the OS, and found that shortly after accepting suggested "upgrades" of Java, MS Office 2004, etc etc my trusty old FM 7.02 crashes immediately on start. All other software and the 10.4.11 run just fine.
Reloaded FMP with no luck, same issue; my old G3 laptop with 10.3.9 still runs FMP 7 just fine, but when firewire connnected to the G5 (G3 in disc mode) when I try to start FMP from the G3 it similarly crashes. Ran first aid and repaired permissions and disk issues, still no help.
I downloaded FM's v10 30-day trial and it works fine on the iMac, but I don't want to spend the money to upgrade if there is a simple fix, any similar experiences or ideas out there ???
