I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max. Running iOS 17.7

I've been using my phone since new for 2 years and the Files App has always instantly opened folders of files I have. The files are stored locally on my phone (not iCloud). I have about 200MB free space available.

Suddenly yesterday, after transferring a few files from photos; I had problems with the Files App. I go to view photos in a specific folder and i get a "Loading" animation for a few seconds before it opens. I assumed I must have a corrupt file, so moved some photos/files to a new folder, but then the slow "Loading" still happens. Even in some folders the thumbnails pics do not appear but only an icon, until I refresh or scroll on the screen.

I thought maybe the indexing of files was affected somehow, so I restarted my phone, but still the same problem.

Has anyone experienced these issues, or know why "suddenly" this would happen. I've tried moving files around to different folders, but still the same bizarre problem. Most folders open instantly.

Help please!! ☹️

First: you check whether a restart helps? Depending on how much files and their file type and where these are stored it might take a moment to load - you checked wether you are indeed accessing local files and not on iCloud Drive?

Thanks, but yes I have restarted the phone a few times. The files a stored in "On My iPhone"; whilst others are in iCloud Drive.

Hopefully someone else has experienced my issue.
