I have a new Mac Book Pro 2.9ghz 8gb ram running ver 10.7.4 I had same issue recently on my previous macbook pro I use mozilla download a file everytime it says it failed. In download box I click it it auto redownloads perfect on the second time? Any ideas?

You get a message saying the download has failed, but then it's in the Downloads dialog box. Sounds like it didn't fail to begin with. But, how long does this "second download" take?

second time is really fast

Yep, the "failed to download" message is an error. I'm not sure how to prevent it. Reminds me of making pdfs with Adobe. I tell it to combine the pages of my file into one pdf. It does that, but then sometimes makes me click out of each page as if I were making individual files. ????
