Hi, I have a samsung 840 that I use as a external. It's has two partitions, one for booting windows to go and one as external for both windows and os x (exFat).

A file on the SSD takes upp much larger space than what it should.
For example, Matlapp.app is about 6.2GB but it takes upp 33GB on disk. It's only behaving so on this partition, the windows partition and the Macbook air's SSD behaves correctly.

Do you know what the problem is?

The drive is formated in drive utility.

Edit: Formated to HFS+ and the partition behaves correctly. Back to exFAT and the problem occurs again.
Is there any problem using drive utility and exFAT?

Different cluster size as leventozler stated.

You should install applications for OS X on HFS+ partitions as that what the developers tested them on. Windows wouldn't need access to OS X applications anyway.
