Hey

I moved over from Windows about four months ago, transferring around 110Gb of music in the process. For some reason a few files that seem to be corrupted MP3s (Bjork, for the record!) refuse to delete.

They've sat in my Trash for a couple of months, which will not empty them. I've tried renaming them, moving them onto USB sticks instead and all-sorts - but they just won't move.

Now if I try to move them out of trash, it says the file cannot read or be written, so just makes a copy instead.

They don't seem to be doing any harm, it's just I'm a neat-freak and have never seen an empty Trash logo since I set my iMac up!

Any ideas?

Have you tried pressing the Option key while you empty the Trash? That normally does the trick for me when it comes to stubborn files that won't shift.

I would try disconnecting all peripherals then restarting your Mac in safe mode. Should empty then.
