Hey - three quick questions about Filevault 2 in Lion.

1. Does it encrypt the recovery partition?
2. Does it encrypt any Boot Camp partition?
3. If it can encrypt the BC partition, do I need to run Boot Camp first, BEFORE encrypting?

Thanks <3

EDIT: OK, it seems it does NOT encrypt the Boot Camp partition. From what I can tell I don't know if it does the recovery partition either...

No it doesn't, just the main partition. I believe the recovery has the necessary codes and such to decrypt the main partition so you can log in. And also it's used for backup purposes. The backup partition isnt really something that visible until you look for it.

Thanks, that seems to be the case.

Does the system on the Recovery Partition actually run the OS even after FileVault2 has been authenticated?

Or, is there some kind of 'switcher over', where the RC starts things and then hands over the system to the one on the encrypted FV2 volume?
How would that actually happen?
