I've been tinkering about the necessity of activating FileVault on my T2-chip equipped MacBook Pro. From what I understand, FileVault encrypts the data on the drive, and that's great. But isn't that what the T2-chip also does (at least the internal SSD)?
Some years ago, before T2, I didn't activate FileVault because I was worried that if the disc image would get corrupted, I would lose ALL data on the entire drive.
Which is the best practice: relying on T2 encryption alone, or T2 + FileVault? Pros/Cons?
