I am currently in college for film and I am looking to buy an iMac next March(still saving up!) for editing. Which technical specs should I be looking for when I go to purchase the iMac, and explain to me the necessity for said spec? I will be using Final Cut Express 4, Adobe CS5.5 Production suite, Final Cut Pro X, and I believe Compressor. If it helps to know, I will have about $3,000 saved for this new iMac buy. Will this be beneficial to wait until March '13 for the new iMac, or should I buy an older iMac or even an MBP? I hear Ivy Bridge is good... Thanks for the help!

It sounds like you can wait a month or two.
