Two days ago, I used appcleaner to get rid of the Verizon Family Protection application installed on my computer; however, after I had deleted the application and its associated files, I guess the filter was still existent, because now my entire internet does not work. When I try to go on the internet, it results in a message saying something like "user not logged in, so the appropriate filters cannot be applied" or "filters cannot be found."

What should I do to completely get rid of the Family Protection entirely, so that I can freely use the internet without parental controls?
