Final cut 7 won't show effects

Ok , you will prob get sick of my questions.

I can't get to preview any effects in FCP7.

I am tryin to add colour correction to a clip.

I drag it to the clip in timeline but it doesn't show any different in canvas.

Any ideas to get this working , is it because its on a G5?

Also are there any red giant magic bullet software (looks?) that will work on this architecture ?

Ok I managed to get it. What version I red giant software works on G5? I can't see it on the website
