i'm fairly new to macs, final cut express etc , i make a lot of short films but i generally edit on windows.

Anyway

We had some hd tapes imported into final cut studio (only just learnt it was studio version) and i no longer have acsses to final cut studio (so i can't re-import them and save them in a new file formart"

i only have final cut express so when i open the files in express final cut tells me the files need rendering to enable playback etc . when i go to render the files i get two messages "codec could not be opened" & " you are using a compression type without the corrospoinding card."

i checked the tutorials , i asked apple , checked there site and basiclly it just says you need to render the files, i tryed to download the international codec but i get a warnning saying you already have this codec installed

please can someone help me?

i'm so bloody confused
i'm not even trying to edit the files i just want to view them back
