Final Cut Express Capture Problem

Hi,

I just switched to a new LaCie Hardrive and when I capture my footage now on FCE it ends up with a couple of files saying "Untitled-AV-1" "Untitled-AV-2" etc... It is not consolidated into one Untitled Quicktime file. The footage will not show without all of those files. Is there something wrong with my FCE settings or what? Please help me. Thank You.

Make sure you drive is formated for mac and is not Windows' FAT. That happens because FAT can't recognize files more than 4gigs I think.
If that's not the case, while I don't know FCE, in FCP that happens if you have your file size limit smaller than the capture limit. For example, if you want to capture an hour of DV, that's about 14Gigs, and the limit on capturing is one hour, but the limit of clip file size is 3Gigs, then you'll end up with 5 related files as you do now with your example. Change it in your settings.

Thanks Lighthouse, it worked. It was formatting the drive.
