Final Cut Express gives low quality

So I just bought Final Cut Express, but after using it i find the quailty is quite poor. For example i used LiveType to make a title for my movie, exported it, it was brilliant quality, but when i import it into Final Cut Express, the quality is low, same with a HD movie clip i got off the internet.
Any help appreciated...
