Final Cut Express - Hang

Hi everyone! I have Final Cut Express. Very often does it hang/freeze itself when exporting a video to a movie file, especially lately. I have no other problems with the computer.

I have a iMac, 2,8 GHz Intel Core Duo with 4 GB memory. Up until today I had 2 GB in memory only. But today I bought 4 GB hoping it would help. But it didn't. My external harddrive is a Seagate.

I have tried setting the scratch disks etc to the computers harddrive but still it hangs/freezes up.

I have done a RAM reset too. It didn't help.

I bought this iMac in February this year. My Final Cut Express is new too. So is the Seagate external harddrive.

Anyone got any ideas on what it could be?

Sometimes it hangs/freezes when I touch the mouse and the cursor moves a little on the screen. The time bar (%) when exporting stands still for some time. Then I just touch the mouse a little and the wheel of colors starts spinning.
