I just purchased a copy of FCE HD and installed it onto my iMac (10.5.2 Leopard). When I try to run the application it tells me I'm missing an AGP graphics card. I was under the impression I could use FCE straight away with my iMac. Have I purchased the wrong version of FCE? Otherwise, is an AGP graphics card expensive and what is a good brand to buy?

Thanks in advance.

You can't upgrade the video card in an iMac... you likely already have a PCIe card anyway. This is actually due to having an old version of Final Cut Express, so you need to do a couple of things.

First run Software Updates and make sure you are at the latest version of FCE HD.

if that doesn't fix it, follow these instructions:

Even though the instructions are for FCP, it's the same process for FCE.

Make sure you make a backup copy of the info.plist file to somewhere else on the harddrive before you edit the file.

Good luck!
