I have final cut express 40.1
I have a new Nikon D5100, takes amazing videos
When I bring it into final cut express it lags really badly in the viewer. I have it so small where it's like at 12% it's even worse if it's any bigger.
The videos are directly on my mac. I have tons of room on my hard drive.
I don't know what it is! it's really annoying. When I render the videos it's totally fine. But it's going to take me so much longer to make this video if I can't see what I want directly in the viewer. HELP? I have a deadline!

In any case, it's highly recommended to NOT have your media files on the same drive as your OS and software. Don't know if it's the reason in your case (could be TONS of other reasons), but very well could be. Try moving your media files to another internal or external (FireWire) drive.
