Final cut express - Locating time code break and other nice messages.

Alright. When i use capture now in final cut i always "locating timecode break". Why would i look for a timecode??? It does not split up the the footage into clips for me. I also keep getting a tape error at exactly the same place just to make things easier for me. Plays fine in iMovie or on the camcorder...
Please help
