Final Cut Express Problem

I tried to create a .mov file from Final Cut Express to be able to send in an e-mail. I tried exporting to medium speed internet and all I keep getting is a blank screen and only audio. I even tried just compressing it using "quicktime with compression" and I still get the same result. What am I doing wrong?:(
