So, I have Final Cut Express 3.0, which I used on my PowerBook G4.

I also have an upgrade to version 4.0.

I just bought a new MacBook Pro.

Question:
If I installed the full 3.0 version on my new computer, then upgraded to 4.0 using the upgrade disc, would Final Cut be running on Rosetta? Or, does the upgrade disc convert the old software to run natively on Intel?

In other words, should I do the 3.0 and upgrade disc, or sell those and put the money toward a full 4.0 version?

Thanks

Generally, if 4.0 was a Universal app, then it is going to be Universal whether you use the upgrade disc or a 'full' disc.
