Final Cut Express Separating Clips

So i've imported a bunch of footage and when i first imported it in, it was just one big clip. Then i did the "DV/Start/Stop Detect", which split up the clips, but, all the clips are still lumped up in one, the only difference being the clips are labeled. So how do i separate the clips, or pull them out of the master clip without manually splitting each?
