I just got a replacement MBP from Apple, and the genius who gave it to me said everything had been migrated onto the new computer.

I just started it to use FCE for my work, and it asked me for the serial number. I entered it and FCE crashed. I restarted and it still won't open. I tied repairing disk permissions, but that didn't work either.

What can I do? Will reinstalling remove the video clips I already have dump into FCE (there's like 10 hours of raw footage plus around 50 sequences)?

I made a back up in time machine yesterday before they replaced my old MBP. Should I restore from that? How would I do that? I've never actually restore from time machine before.

EDIT: I just realized this was a somewhat common problem, so I just uninstalled/reinstalled and IT'S STILL HAPPENING. . . X_X
