Final Cut Express won't launch

I have installed final cut express but when I try to start it it goes through the motions of starting and then suddenly stops. I am using a G5 imac, 10.4.11, intel duo 1.8ghz. Will the software not run on my computer?

I have had this problem also when I have multiple user accounts on the machine and the first time I opened Final Cut Express was NOT under an Admin account. The program would start to open and then never finish. To solve it I have logged into the admin account and opened up Final Cut Express and logged out. This seemed to solve the problem.
