Final Cut Exress ... help?!?

Hey everyone ... I'm new to this board (just registered today)

Anyways, hopefully someone can help me out.

I have opened my video into FCE and when I play the movie in the viewer it is INCREDIBLY SLOW!!! It might play smoothly for 1 or 2 seconds but then it just starts to chug along ... skipping parts of the video every second or so.

I have a G3 500 iBook with 320MB of RAM ... running 10.2

Any ideas?

You have a pretty slow machine there... not ideal for video editing. You want at least a G4 for video... Altivec is a big plus in that area. If you can't get a new machine (or jump straight up to a G5 ), at least fill it up with more RAM. That should help, if only a little.

help opening final cut express

I am new here to. Not even sure this is where i should post my question....i have installed final cut express 4. when i try and open it it starts opening then suddenly disappears from the screen and the doc. it never fully opens. Any ideas?
