Final Cut Pro 4 issues - PMG5

I recently purchased Final Cut 3.5 off of my Computer Programming teacher (she edits videos for the school and has since upgraded to Premier). I installed it on my G5 and had issues loading audio plugins. Eventually Software Update informed me it had a 4.0 update and I installed it. Now it gets passed Loading Audio Plugins, but now hangs at Loading Audio Filters. Anyone know what to do?

Every forum on this I can find says its something with the plugins I have installed for FCP, but this is a fresh install with Zero extra plugins.

Not sure, you probably need Final Cut 6

Ok check if it is the education edition, you can't update it to any 4.x,5.x,or 6.x if it is.

It is the regular consumer retail version. She purchased it long before she became a teacher
