Im using FCP for video editing and i dont understand how to create a small file but still keep good audio/video quality. I post them on my .mac site so they need to be small. On apple site i just saw a "new imac" film and it was beautiful quality and long and only about 8 mb. How do they do it.

It depends on the film. If there's not a lot of movement, low QT video encoding will look good. A skate video, or something with a lot of movement will look like crap. When you export, do it to Quicktime and play with the a/v settings until you find a balance that you're happy with.
