I've recently started using final cut pro but suddenly when I click the file I've just imported it says this

My computer has 4 GBS currently and 130 on my external hardrive.

Everything else is working fine and FCP didn't say this last time I imported a file of this type.

Any idea what I should do next? Thanks :)

What are you using as the scratch disk? You say you have space free on your external...are you using that?

Sounds like your scratch disk is out of space. Go to the Finder, double click on the icon of your disk, and look at the bottom of the window to determine how much space is remaining on your disk. You may need to start using your external as the scratch.

I can use my external as the scratch ? that would be great! how do i do that? i am permanently at a really low disk space, but I have hardly any files. everything is in the external.

To change the scratch disk, load up Final Cut Pro and go to System Settings and then click "Set" and choose your external drive.
