Final Cut Pro question

I actually have a total of 4 questions

Any free software to convert MTS file to MOV?

1 - Any new version of Final Cut Pro coming soon? XI maybe?
2 - I know cheap software could do this but can FCP put turning birds around the head of someone? (like if they were knocked?)
3 - Is it possible to make a bubble pop with text in it close to the head of someone?

#1.... no clue. ¿For what?

#2. You will need to find some footage of birds (if such thing exist) and make the composition yourself, in can be in FCPX, FCP7, After Effects, Premiere... etc. If you are somewhat skilled AND if you ever find such footage ready to compose.

#3. Probably with Motion but I do not know if there is such template just like that.

I only have the trial at the moment and was wondering if I buy it now or wait for the next version

There are a bunch of free converters in the app store. Perhaps one will do what you want. Most have AVCHD in the title.

FCPX will do this. Just import the data straight off the camera and let FPC do the conversion on import.
