Well, I got my MB SR 2.2 GHz a few weeks ago, and it's awesome. I decided to give Final Cut Pro a try on it, and surprisingly enough, it runs pretty well.

Just a question, how the hell on earth do I get FCP to read .MPG files fully? It reads the video file, but not the audio, why? Do I need a plugin? If so, where do I get it? This is for FCP 5 btw.

Also, every time I add an effect, I have to render it. I think thats pretty stupid, can I bypass it at all, or atleast be able to preview the clip without rendering it, with the effect in place?

Thanks.

usually FCP has a problem with MPEG files that have AC-3 audio or sometimes with mpegs that are muxed with mp2 audio. If you use MPEGStreamclip you can convert the MPEG files to DV files or whatever you set the FCP to work at.
