Hey guys, I've recently installed FCP 6.0.2 on my MBP using Leopard. The source files I am using were converted to dv format using VisualHub. When I view the source files in the Viewer, the playback is extreamly choppy. If I drag the source files into a sequence, the playback will be fine (no audio of course until I render).

So, I am rather confused on why the playback of my Viewer is choppy. Anyone have any ideas or hints to where I can look?

Edit: I also have over 30gig free space left.

Ok, i've isolated the problem to the source files not been ripped right. I ripped the dvd files using VisualHub forcing Anamorphic 16:9. This seemed to work ok for playback using quicktime, but it's choppy in FCP. What program has worked for you guys when working with anamorphic footage?
