Final Cut Pro, Apple's video editing software aimed at professionals, today received a minor update to address a few bugs that have been discovered since the release of the 10.4.1 version of the app.

According to Apple's notes, the update fixes a bug that caused clips you didn't mean to select to be included when selecting multiple clips using the Shift key, and it addresses issues related to XML import and export. Full notes:
What's New
- Fixes an issue in which selecting multiple clips using the Shift key or marquee selection could inadvertently select other clips in the timeline
- Fixes issues related to XML import and export
Today's update comes three weeks after the release of Final Cut Pro 10.4.1, a major update that introduced a new ProRes RAW format, new closed captioning tools, and enhanced tools for exporting files.

Final Cut Pro can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $299.99. [Direct Link]

Wonder if the bug where FCP won't load audio from files processed by handbrake is fixed… Plays fine in quicklook but doesn't load in FCP. Older version of Handbrake works fine so it could also be their issue…

Do they have a fix for this bug? https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/25990204/

I hit a trange but last night...

Inserted my SD card which FCPX detected as a camera (that’s fine.) I imported some footage with “Copy to Library” selected and then did my edit.

When attempting to render the movie, I was told that it couldn’t be done because some media was still on the camera. Sure enough, it hadn’t imported to the library. Neither the reimport option nor unplugging the card and selecting “relink files” would work.

I had to copy the file off the card onto the hard disk, import it and do a “replace” on each instance in the timeline. Very time consuming.

Does Apple offer a demo of FCP? We have an old version but can't upgrade/update without buying again.

Happens to me now and then too. Very annoying and can be hard to fix. Best advice is be damn sure
It’s really done importing from the card before ejecting it. And maybe be sure about it before editing. I like to eject source Media before editing just so I can be sure everything’s really in the library.

eGPU support and motion tracking please Apple..

Motion tracking should go in Motion, IMO. Really I'd just like them to actually beef up Motion so it can fight Fusion and After Effects on at least some of the same turf. Something that could light the fire under Adobe to get off its ass and make AE better would be great.

10.4.2 and it got 3 Gigs

Okay fair enough about it being in Motion, it would just be nice in FCPX so that it could be linked to effects & colour corrections etc. What is your current workflow to pull it off ?
Face tracking like in DaVinci Resolve would be a nice addition. I feel like my iPhone has more capability currently than my Mac with the, dare I say it, seamless 3D live tracking of Snapchat and Instagram..
