Hi

In my role as IT manager etc, I use to be up with the play of what iMovie could do. However, I havent had to use it a lot lately.

My Media Studies teacher wishes to use Final Cut Pro rather than iMovie for his students. Can you tell me where there is a feature comparison between the 2 for the latest versions of each. He wants to do non-linear editing, which he explained as being the ability to mix multiple video tracks together. Is this possible with the latest iMovie.

Also is anyone up with educational bundles available for FCP

Usually people compare Final Cut Pro with Adobe Premiere--they're moreso in the same category. iMovie is VASTLY pared down from either of those...but that said, it's feature-rich enough for most users.

But as the last poster said, check out those links and download a trial to really see what each can do.
