Hello everyone,

I am thinking about getting Final Cut Pro X but I don't know if it's compatible with my Mac Mini.
I'm using an August 2007 Mac Mini and it meets all of the requirements for FCP X except for the 2GB RAM.
Now I don't really know what the RAM is for or if it's a vital requirement.

Can any of you help me out?

Here is some information about my mac:

OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: 1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Graphics: Intel GMA 950

Thanks in advance!

Mmmm

They said, when I tried to install the demo of final cut pro x, that it doesn't work on my 2007 MacBook. Seem to be a similar setup. Is there still a trial version? If yes, download it and try to install it....

Cheers from sunny Hamburg!!

I would say you would be hard pressed to run FCPX effectively with 2 GB of RAM, much less 1 GB
You would be better off with 4 GB

So, to answer your question, I don't think it would run

I think it will run, but not sufficiently. I would suggest an upgrade to 4gb or 8gb of ram. Especially since prices have been going down it's not too expensive at all.

Also like another user said, download the trial and check.

@AFPoster

What's the price range for that nowadays? And can I just implement it myself or does a technician have to do it?

Also, I'm downloading the trial right now.

Update: It didn't even start up because my "system doesn't meet the minimum requirements for graphics cards". That's odd. I thought that wouldn't be the problem. The GMA 950 is even listed in the compatibility list.
