Hey all,

I'm currently creating some clinical skills videos for my revision website. I have previously been using iMovie for this. It's simple in iMovie to add a border & some transitions to a picture in picture clip. However I can't seem to figure out how to do this in Final Cut Pro X. Does anyone know how you can add borders & transitions to PIP clips?

Thanks

What you should be able to do is put the clips one on top of each other in the timeline and then re-size the top video so that it is PIP size and place it where you want to. You can also put any transition you want onto it.

Don't have FCPX open - in middle of FCP 7 project but look for an effect that is similar to PIP.

If you put clip on track above primary storyline, you can't add any transitions to it without a major workaround - putting it in primary storyline, putting gap media on either side and adding transitions and then putting it above primary storyline. There must be a PIP equivalent.

Make it a compound clip. Then you should be able do with it as if it was in the storyline.
