final cut pro x lagging - macOS Mojave 10.14.3

Hi all.

I've been using final cut pro x with my macbook air 2018 just fine until I updated Mojave to 10.14.3.
Since then, final cut pro has been showing me rainbow cursors, slowdowns, and frequent freezes. It's worse when I try to use preset titles or import media.

I tried rebooting several times and didn't fix, and external HDD seemed to have nothing to do with the lag.

So, if there is anyone using Mojave 10.14.3 and had the same issue, I would love to know the solution. Thank you!

I called Apple on this and they blamed third party plug-ins... what a load of crap. It is somewhat better when I turned off background rendering, but wow. Just wow.

Yeh, I just turned off backgronud rendering too and it is way better. The only problem is that "render all" needs to be processed separately before "sharing".
