Final Cut Pro X latest on M1 beach ball

Hello!

I looked around but could not find any answer for my issue.

This is on a M1 Mac, with latest update of everything.

Since a few days, each action I take in Final Cut is resulting in beach balling.

Example. I open a 4k timeline, place a small 4k 60/8bit footage on it, go to the effect panel and select Custom lut, and when I start dragging it I have the beach ball every time. I tried with different library, effects, and its always the same. I also tried removing the preferences as well as opt+cmd start.

Any idea ?

Is the library on internal or external drive. You did say you restarted the MAC?
Every time I've had this kind of issue it seemed to turn out to be a storage thing, often a misbehaving or too many drives on the bus, but that may just be me.

Yeah I tried everything like this. I think this happened when I import and somehow final cut is still not ready to be used as still importing (even if the circle shown that there is nothing waiting). I'l try to give it more time.. might help.
