I've been having a strange problem whenever I try to use my MacBook Pro's HD on the new Final Cut Pro X.

In the first screen shot, you see what I see when I open the app. Note the Macintosh HD under the Event Library and its projects under the Projects Library.

In the second screen shot, taken just a second later, it's gone.

The funny thing is, everything works fine when I hook up my external hard drive, but it's not very powerful, and I didn't intend to use it in that manner.

I wanted to know if there is something I could do to fix the problem, be it clearing registry files or something of that nature.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Doesn't it default to the internal HDD? It does for me. Maybe the option disappears because it's already using the internal HDD?

Look in the "Movies" folder on your HDD. Everything should be there.

Everything is there, but it doesn't show up. After talking with Apple support, I figured out the problem has to do with my /Users folder. I'm in the process of setting up another user account on the system, and it seems to be working.
