Hi there.

I've been trying to install Final Cut Studio 3. I am installing on a new Imac 27 I7 Core. 4 gb ram.

The installer gives me a list of the different applications to install. I tick them all and go install. It goes through and at the very end asks for me to insert the installer disc again.

I do.

It comes back saying it has encountered an error and failed.

I read up on this - here I think - and found people saying this could happen and you should try to install the apps seperately.

I did this so well as I could and completed a few different successful installs.

I do not have complete freedom over what I install and do not install tho.

Certain programs, colour and motion i believe, were greyed out with a tick (to say "yes install") from the beginning.

As I went on and successfully installed some programs and went back to do the rest - the ones i HAD installed, would now be grey with a tick.

Some said 'upgrade' as install type, some did not.

Eventually, the last thing I went to install was soundtrack pro. By this stage everything was greyed out with a tick and i believe it tried to reinstall everything again. And once again it said error at the end of this install.

I open each application and they all open fine and seem to be working ok, but I still did not complete installs for everything with it saying 'successful install' and if indeed it DID reinstall them all on that last run then maybe there could be a problem?

I'm just curious if anyone has any idea what this is all about. If it should be a problem or not? Is there is a clever way of installing packages seperately or not using that final cut installer program? It does not really let me deselect programs as i'd like to.

Many thanks if you have read this far and more still if you are generous to offer advice! :)
