Guys, is F Cut Studio any good? What is the difference between this and F Cut Pro? WHat is a good used price for it? THanks

Studio is a package of 6 programs including Final Cut Pro. It is very good but, if you do not know what it is, you probably do not need it. If you are interested in film editing start with iMovie which came free with your Mac. Best wishes.

Yes, definately play around with iMovie, you will soon want to move onto more powerful suites.

I started out on iMovie, then went onto Adobe Premiere, now i'm a Final Cut Pro user, definately the best progression.

If you start with iMovie, which comes free with every new mac, you could then look into Final Cut Express, a watered down version of Final Cut Pro.

Studio may be overkill if you aren't familiar with it already. It is a complete studio package, audio mixing, motion graphics, pro DVD authoring...

Rich.

play with iMovie. it's fun.

If you go into the retail stores and ask for a demo of FCP Studio 2, you'll be better equipped to make a decision on what you need.

Learning curve isn't so friendly if you don't have previous experience editing video or music.

That said, make sure you make some money if you do go with Studio. No point in putting in that much time to make something you can do on iMovie/iDVD.
