Final Cut Studio Documents Question

hey, im running fcp 6 on my mbp and im almost out of hard dive space. so i want to transfer all of the live type, dvd studio pro, motion, and apple loops to an external hard drive. but when i launch an application such as soundtrack, i can't see any of the loops. so how do i notify the app to read the documents from the external hard drive?

please help.

The way it's normally done is DURING the install process. At that time, you have the option of installing ALL of the extra content on another volume.
