Final Cut WONT play audio

I just installed Final Cut Express HD and it wont play audio. THe meters in the program move and the wave form editor says there is audio, but when it plays back, there's none! What am I doing wrong?

Sound works in iTunes and iMovie, just not FCE

What is your Audio output set too? I think its in the menubar under view, at the very bottom were the rest of the AV stuff is. You can also change the audio output in the user preferences. If it still doesn't work... trash your preferences. That always fixes a bunch of problems.

I only know about FCP but I think in this aspect they are very similar.

ahh let me tell u how to fix that
bring up your Log and Capture screen. Under clip setting, click "preview"
