Howdy,
I am a newbie to FCX-1 and am exporting my first movie to Quicktime. I eventually want to burn my movie to DVD. Anyway, my export from FCX to Quicktime is taking 15 hours for a 20 minute video. Is this the standard duration for a typical export to Quicktime? Or does this sound pretty lengthy?
Is there a quicker way to export a FCX movie to Quicktime?

actually its called FCE for short, Final Cut Express.
And 20 hours isnt HORRIBLY bad, if you have a slow computer.
encoding takes forever. just leave it running all night or something.

Thank you very much for confirming that encoding takes such a long time. I guess I'll have to live with it until I score my dual-processor G5.

Yea, I'd be interested in your computer.

I'm getting the system listed in my signature below, and I plan to do a lot of editing with FCE.
