finale notepad 2010, guitar tablature and macbook pro

how do you enter guitar tab on notepad with a macbook pro? I usually use the alternate numeric keyboard on my home keyboard to change the fret number after entering it on the string, but since the mbp doesn't have the numeric keypad it doesn't work. so when I enter a note I can't change the fret from the default zero? thanks for help

also, is it possible to somehow make the tablature show up automatically after entering the notation?

Interesting question; i don't know the answer because I use only my full aluminum keyboard when I work in Finale 2009.
