On 25th November I finally bought the Apple Watch Ultra with the midnight ocean band in Hong Kong.

I am really loving the watch. The screen and feel of the watch is amazing. It has to be the best swatch watch in the market for sure.

Anyway, along with the watch I also got the iMOS sapphire glass screen protector with the stainless steel bumper for protection. It also comes with 3M clear film for the bottom of the watch for protection against scratches.

Now I am wondering if I should get the other bands from Amazon or are the quality not good at all. What are your thoughts on the Alpine Loop and Trail Loop bands from Amazon?

Tell me more about that screen protector? Can you tell it’s on? Effect the feel of screen at all?

The screen protector is Sapphire Glass. It feels a lot closer to actual glass than the plastic glass protectors. They are more scratch resistant. iMOS screen protectors are the best in the market. All their products are considered to be the best in quality.

Thank you for that. Congrats on the watch. I’m trying to decide to pull trigger on one or not.

I’ve tried a couple of the replicas bands and let me first say that the apple versions are far superior, especially when you hold both the apple and Amazon bands in hand

In my humble opinion, for $10, the Amazon trail loop is really close to accurate in terms of size and feel and even comes with metal connectors. The alpine trail loops are decent quality, but the version I received had plastic clasps

I ended up returning the Amazon alpine loop as it was inferior to apples and felt kinda cheap. I am keeping apples alpine loop bc it is my favorite apple band

I am keeping both the apple and Amazon trail loops. Despite these 2 being very similar in quality, the apple is just a tad nicer. Ill use the Amazon band for workouts and the apple for the times I want a black strap on my watch instead of orange

So in short, amazons got some decent bands at a great price and I would almost always recommend those. If money isn’t a concern or if you just like apple branded products, then the apple bands are great

I second this. The third party bands are hit and miss as far as durability. For example, the cheap leather one I got for my wife at Target a few years ago eventually peeled apart, and the cheap silicone ones we got my son tend to just break after a while.

Apple takes a lot of criticism for the price of their own bands, but in reality, a good watch band for ANY watch is expensive. And if you pay higher for a good band that's made well, it will make you a lot happier over time.

I know that I am weird, but when I get my watch, I am not going to be able to wait till I can change the band back to one that I have been wearing since like forever. My current choice is a product red sport loop.

Love my Ultra. Lots of luck with it. It is a winner for sure. Coming from a S4 ... I purchased mine with the Black Trail Loop ! So comfy! ALso picked up the Alpine loop in Green, I got the orange 1st wore it for week and got really dirty on the outer strap. Inside strap looked NEW. Returned it and got the green.

Wow so there is a protector that goes on the bezel of the watch and another that goes inside of that? Per that video?

Would love the matte version of the protector but can't find anyone supporting USA buyers

Yes, the shining "ring bezel" serves as a "frame" which sits high above the original AWU bezel (and does not cover the watch antenna). The sapphire protector then sits inside the "frame" and above the original AWU glass.

A minimalist design to protect the AWU bezel and glass, as they are the impact/scratch magnets. This also does not change the look of AWU.

Curious why you would put a screen protector over a watch crystal that is already sapphire?

I also recently purchased an ne Ultra Watch for an Apple company store, my concern is that there was only one band available to fit my wrist size. I tried all the bands but only the Trail Loop velcro band fits me. I am also looking at a third party band from Amazon, which offer 230mm and larger bands. The person who came with the slogan that the new rugged Ultra Watch is designed to be worn when wearing a wet suit, obviously has never worn a wet suit, or has very thin arms. I cannot even get the swim version bands on my wrist at 230mm. Apple, you design and build a fantastic, rugged looking watch, then offer Apple original bands 220mm diameter. The Ultra users you describe in your adds, are rugged, muscled outdoors, and there for have thick wrists. It's unfortunate that you leave Ultra wearers with one alternative, source a third party watch band that fits the users wrist size.

Fwiw, anyone reading this in the future: washing the alpine loop strap is about the easiest thing to do. Small bit of dish soap, lukewarm water and some finger scrubbing. Took less than 2 minutes to rinse

So … “you do you,” of course, especially if you like the way it looks.

But, if you actually manage to damage the Ultra’s screen, the watch is going to be the least of your worries.

Seriously.

As in, unless you’re working in a diamond mine, I’m not sure how you damage a sapphire screen without also needing your arm to be amputated.

Have a look at the bumper and screen protector.

It not only protects the screen but also makes the watch look more classy.

i received one of these as a gift but am a little hesitant to install it as stainless steel can scratch titanium bezel. Has anyone tried one of these protectors?
