I'm just posting this to save you guys some headache. I was at work and missed the pre-order so I, like many others, have been searching and searching for a 6 Plus. But let me tell you now.... If you can help it... Go through your carrier!!!!

How in the world these other retailers call themselves "mobile specialist" is beyond me, most of them are nothing short of a joke. Especially Target and Best Buy. Yes they can do the simple crap but forget anything that takes some small effort like ATT NEXT.

I found a gold plus 2 hrs away from me at a "best buy mobile" and asked them on the phone if I make the drive can I upgrade using next? Can you take my phone? They said yes yes yes. We'll I get there and it's really ghetto. The woman pulls up my account and says "you aren't eligible for an upgrade". Yes I am you freakin idiot, on both lines for over 2 months.

"Oh wait, yes you is". Thank you, I know this. "Oh we can't take your phone from you, you has to turn it into AT&T". Of course, I should have known not to listen to them. So I leave pretty angry but polite, I mean I drove about 2 hrs for nothing. Then I just say well I'll pay my 5s off and they can start a new next installment! Go back in and ask them and they say yea you can do that, but you can't pay it off here. Of course not, that would be too damn convenient. It's not like I'm in a "mobile" store or anything. So I call AT&T on the fly wait 10 mins, explain myself.... They hang up on me.... Call back, wait 10 mins... The nice woman assures me I can do that and it will reflect on the account immediately and she walked me through it on the app.

Finally everything is good to go and they give me the phone. I'm not convinced that they weren't trying to save it for friends or family. Either way they were completely ignorant.

My point is.. SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE!!! Best buy, target, walmart.... Cannot do half of the things you may need them to, just go through your carrier if at all possible.

On a good note, a lot of 6 pluses have popped up this week! Insanely happy with the phone, it shipped with 8.0.2 so maybe it was produced a little later, I had no issues out of the box like dead pixels, light bleed or scratches. It's gorgeous. If you want a 6 plus I suggest you wait it out until u get it, and in the color you want! It's worth the wait.

I find it crazy that you drove 2hrs for a phone...

2hrs there and 2hrs back? Or 2hrs total?

I guess your time isn't worth that much. Driving 4 hours for a phone? That's sad.

If the guy wants to drive a few hours for a phone, let it be. Chill out folks..
Agreed I don't see a difference when people wait in line for the iPhone from a week to days. Congrats on your new phone bud enjoy it you deserved it

Thanks guys! Well, i took two weeks vacation from work, so i didnt have any plans. it was about maybe 95 miles away, but a town i frequent often as well. Been waiting forever it seems like so i didnt mind driving. My 5s battery is shot, maybe 2.5-3 hrs per charge..

Congrats! If I had the day off and was driving to an interesting city to get the phone when most of us waited 2-4 weeks for the phone, why not? Make a day trip out of it

My takeaway from these posts is that if you order online line you will get it sooner, with much less hassle, than driving all over the place hoping desperately that some store will have one in stock, and that the people working in those shops will actually know what they are doing.

Glad you found your phone. Congratulations!

I drove just over 2 hours one-way to get my phone. I have no problem in doing it and could care less what anyone else thinks of it. I've enjoyed my phone since 9/25 while MANY either stood in line camping out overnight (or for days) just to be denied due to scalpers OR are pulling their hair out because yet another email has been sent that the phone they ordered is still backordered, or worse, their order has been cancelled for some unknown reason. (Not making fun, just stating the facts - I feel for the situation)

Everyone calculates their time and sanity differently, however. Plus, it's true some are simply stuck with certain options for whatever reason. I think its crazy to stand in line in the middle of the night for ANYTHING, let alone, camp out for longer. Still, all things, being equal, everyone ultimately does what they are willing to do.

My advice is to never go through the carrier as it'll be locked although it seems that in the UK we have more freedom with mobile networks and can switch about whenever we like. Not sure what it's like in the US though.

Fastest turnaround yet??

I ordered mine online direct with Apple on 27th of Oct and informed that my 6 plus has been dispatched on 1st Nov. Now that's fast!
