So I am finally getting a PowerBook G4 Titanium! It is a 1GHz model, with 1GB RAM and a 60GB HDD. It's in really nice condition. There is the usual paint chipping on the hinges, and the paint is worn off on the left palm rest, but other than some minimal scratching here and there, its in awesome fully working condition. My plan is to split the HDD into 3 parts; 10GB for OS 9, 20GB for Tiger, and 30GB for Leopard (If there is an order I should partition everything in, please let me know because I'm not aware of any reason to have them in an order). It will hopefully come this week, but next week the latest (I'm getting it from a fellow member). Of course, I'll take pictures and do my usual write-up on this machine when I get it.

It's going to be a fun laptop and it's going to be awesome for OS 9!

That's the order I've got my TiBook partitioned :
OS X 10.1 / OS 9 dual boot (factory recovery)
Tiger
Leopard

20GB for each IIRC.

Btw, this will complete my entire collection of PowerBook G4s. I will have one of each body style! I have 1 Titanium 1GHz, 1 12in 1.5GHz, 1 (dead, but a replacement is on the way!) 15in 1.25GHz, and 2 (one is being used for spares) 17in machines 1Ghz and 1.33GHz.

You know that Apple changed the lettering on the display over time with the TiBook right? ;) :D

My son has the DVI, but his LCD shows the script from the Mercury (400mhz TiBook) because it was transplanted.

Great machine! No joke, I feel like my 1GHz TiBook is faster than my 1.67GHz 17" PowerBook. That 1MB of L3 cache speeds up everything. I'm sure you'll love it!

Thanks man! I'm looking forward to it.

I view that as a challenge :D

Haha. 1Ghz of full processing power. After christmas, I might see if I can find one on eBay.
When you get it, please GeekBench it, I want to compare to my 500Mhz.
It's the L3 cache that makes it fast.

My son's DVI is a rocket and he's maxed at 1GB. And it runs Leopard.

I have my 500MHz running Leopard, and it's not slow at all IMO
I had it running on my 400mhz TiBook.

My wife was using that…until my daughter bounced it off the couch and killed the logicboard. ;)

That's how my wife ended up with her 12" PowerBook.

It's in my possession!

I will take some pictures as soon as I get home and wipe it down as I usually do with every new computer I get.

It's going to be awesome!
