So my 13" TB MacBook Pro died on Wednesday last week. Put it in the bag Tuesday night after charging it so it would be ready in the morning. Grabbed the bag the next morning and noticed the bag was warm--not good. I opened the flap and reached into the padded laptop portion and the laptop was almost too hot to touch--again, way not good. After getting it out, I was greeted with a black screen. I held in the power/finger print button and finally got it to shut down. I waited about 15 min to let it cool down and then powered it on. It would last about 10 minutes before locking up, then I had to do another hold in the power button reset. Also, when it was on, while it lasted, I could not shut it down--just went to black screen with the keyboard backlights on. Requiring another hard shutdown. And finally, it couldn't sleep either. I seen an hour or two messing with it doing SMC and NVRAM resets. Then called Apple... no luck. So off to the Apple Store I went... 24 hours later, the only available time slot available. They took it and said they'd need to ship it out for repair. This sort of pissed me off. A $2000.00 (after tax) laptop that was just over two months old with no real repairable parts. Hell, they should have just handed me a new one. (They had them, I checked stock before going with the iStock website.

So, I had to build up an old 2011 13" Pro to use. Just got it back a couple hours ago, with new logic board and top cover (keyboard) and did a Time Machine restore. Yay, I'm back in 2016 MacBook Pro action.

You don't realize how much better the new one is... screen, keyboard, large trackpad, fingerprint sensor and Touch Bar until you don't have them!

I was a little annoyed with Apple last week, but now I'm just happy to have it back. The thing feels totally new.
