Put the specs in my sig. Thanks to those who offered the advice on the 8800 vs the dual 3870's. I found it very helpful.

I am loving this machine. I am about to install a game on the bootcamp partition to see how fast it really goes!

while waiting on tritian response I will give you mine (same configuration, except GPU):
- PSU 1 - 46 degrees C
- PSU 2 - 44 degrees C

is it normal?

Hmm.. you must got the older batch psu from the mac pro.

Did you order straight from apple or another vendor?

I bought it in local Apple store...

can you backup your thoughts (older batch of PSU) with some links?

does the PSu temp really that important anyway?

yea what do you mean by that. I just got my mac pro custom build from apple
about 7 weeks ago my istat psu temps are 41 and 42 Celsius are those high?
My mac pro has been on for about 4 hours and it is summer time about 78F
or 24c ambient room temp.
Are their some new and improved psu apple is using in their mac pro's.

There seems to be 2 batches of psu that apple is currently using, one seems notably higher in temps like mine and other is lower like yours.

I dont think there is wrong with either one or whichever one is better but was just curious.

Mine are:

PSU1:64
PSU2:55

CPU1 & 2: 26

My machine is on all the time.

Flyyvon.

it's really strange for the temperatures on the psus. Mine at a constant 68c and 59c when it on all the time.

It seems to vary on every different machines.
