I've been using iOS26 on my iPhone since day one of the Beta. I tried MacOS 26 on my MacBook and reverted due to issues I have with bloated wasted screen space. I have to say, the same space issues were present on the iPad Pro. It seems Apple is in a tough spot trying to keep each OS distinct. But they went ahead and made free floating windows, which makes the new design choices more glaring bad. It was most noticeable when I windowed safari. The interface elements take up too much space. it makes even a 13 inch screen seem cramped. Apple got bored with their own nearly perfected flat design paradigm, and in the process have probably doomed any chance at a functional multitasking system on mobile.

Totally agree — the new design feels bloated and wastes too much space, especially on smaller screens. Apple’s push for a “desktop-like” feel on iPad and Mac seems to have hurt usability more than it helped. The old clean layout was far better.
