Ok, so like most "Switchers" I've been eyeing the macrumor forums for over a year, looking on with green eyes at how amazing Mac Hardware is whilst my Windows Laptop, whilst functional, just lacks any type of inspiration.
Anyway, after a LONG 12 months of "Should I, Shouldn't I" I've finally ordered myself a MBP 17", 4GB and Hi-Res Glossy Screen (I *really* couldn't decide between a Matte or Glossy but a quick visit to the Apple store clinched the deal for Glossy).
I'll actually be using my MBP for Windows (Unavoidable for work) primarily via Bootcamp, but hopefully make the full transition to OSX over the next few months.
Anyway, my main reason for posting is that I know there are lot of other people in my position who get put off by Apples reluctance to ever provide information on when their hardware gets updates. I've come to the conclusion that when you buy *any* Apple product, you only have a maximum of 6 months before the next update is either announced or expected or rumored... in which case, just buy TODAY and if you feel shortchanged 6 months later, don't worry... just wait anither 6 months and update then
